Introducing ARTIFACTS
What if I could have the same fulfilling experience from my apartment?
Let me tell you a secret. I wish I had been a Sotheby's Art Specialist or, on a grander scale, a Peggy Guggenheim. I have always wanted to be close to an almost sacred and mythical world of beauty and creativity.
It may not sound peculiar to you, but it is deeply personal to me. Only in recent years did I acknowledge this desire. I probably didn't want to admit it to protect myself from disappointment. I don't have the means or the connections - not even close.
However, the internet changed the rules around knowledge and publishing. The paths available to me now were closed 20 years ago. That's a plus in my favor. I don't need the permission of anybody.
We are told to dream big. And then, to dream bigger. I would change this quote to dream better. Sometimes, our subconscious minds close possible paths before we even know it. What if I didn't need Guggenheim money and connections? What if I could have the same fulfilling experience from my apartment?
ARTIFACTS is exactly that: my dream of being a curator and a collector. I want to gather films, music, fashion, books, art, and perfumes, bringing high and pop culture, the old and the new, the familiar and the unfamiliar into conversation. It isn't about adding more content, but about reminding us that curiosity, imagination, and beauty deserve more of our attention.
In each volume, I will explore aesthetics, emotions, and worlds under a specific theme. I will be the curator but I will first and foremost be a visitor alongside you.
Welcome. Come inside.
